Senator Mar Roxas sponsored last night three economic bills that aim to beef up the country’s capability to stay afloat the current economic situation and protect the interests of Filipino households.
Roxas filed LPG Industry Regulation and Sponsorship Act which seeks to strengthen the regulation of the LPG industry against unscrupulous businessmen selling substandard LPG tanks and from victimizing especially the poor.
The second bill Roxas filed – Accountability in International Trade Negotiations Law of the Philippines – seeks the creation of a Philippine Trade Representative Office (PTRO), a single agency that will be responsible for the government’s international trade policy formulation and negotiations.
The Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009, the Liberal Party president also proposed, ensures that government investments in scientific and technological innovations are used for national development.
Roxas is the chairman of the Senate Trade and Commerce Committee.
