DTI: Motorcycle Drivers Can Secure ICC/PS Helmet Stickers

Good news! The Department of Trade and Industry announces that motorcycle drivers who owned an old or previously purchased motorcycle protective helmet can secure the required ICC or PS stickers to avoid apprehension starting August 1, 2012.

Bad news! For now, motorcycle owners/drivers have to wait for the announcement from DTI when the stickers shall be available for distribution, says DTI Regional Director Asteria Caberte during the DyAB Traffic Summit early today.

The stickers are available at P1.25 only but the motorcycle drivers have to pay the processing fee of P100 upon securing the sticker at the DTI. Caberte warned motorists of the scam selling fake ICC and PS stickers as their agency is filing charges against an individual who was caught selling it.

The ICC (Import Compliance Certificate) sticker is issued to all imported helmet while the PS (Product Standard) sticker is issued to all locally-manufactured helmet.

Most of the available motorcycle protective helmet in the market is imported. Though, according to Director Caberte there are already local manufacturers that passed the standard requirements.

The DTI has listed 49 brands of approved motorcycle helmet. The most popular brand is “Index“. Here’s the partial list of the brands of helmet issued with the ICC  mark:

  1. sir jun ask ko lng po kasi nakabitan nako ng icc sticker sa may moa kaso walang binigay na papel sa akin na katuyan na ok sa dti paano po pag sinita ako ng mga pulis kailangan kailangan pa po ba na ipakita ung papel kasi wala nga po na naibigay sa akin tnxs

    nakabili ako ng Helmet na may Sticket na ICC pero duda ako kung Genuine ba na ICC to o Fake kasi pag i compare ko sa ibang ICC may pagkakaiba sya..pero sabi ng nabilhan ko pwde daw un pakita lng daw yong Receipt nila.pano kung fake lng yong ICC sa Helmet ko?

  5. Mga sirs tanong ko lng po, pano po kaya kung may inorder ako na helmet from U.S. “JOE ROCKET” ang brand kararating lng, kaso wala din icc sticker? Di ko na ba talaga magagamit? Waaahhh!!!! Ang mahal pa naman!!! Di po nagyayabang, sayang lang, ang tagal ko pinagipunan.

  8. Another good news, DTI also has posted DTi personnel in LTO branches who are renewing their licenses and will issue ICC stickers for free as a birthday gift!

  9. Good news! ang mga “huli” team may mga kasama nang taga DTI na nagi.isyu ng ICC sticker for free! All you need to do is wear a legit helmet! Galing nang naisip ko ano.

  10. Nakakuha na ako ng ICC sticker kaso nung nilinis ko naalis ung sticker kasi nagbakbak ung “rubberized” texture. Ano gagawin kung walang naisyu na certificate o resibo? Gastos nanaman?!

  15. BPS printed lang po meron sa likod ng helmet ko GDR at ZEBRA ang brand sbi nila no need ICC how true?

  21. hmm kanina pumunta ako ng dti sabi hindi na daw nag iissiu ng sticker..panu ko palalagyan ng icc yung helmet ko???

  22. sir, pag nanghuli ba hinihingi pa ba nila ang certificate ng icc, kc nakabili ako sa sm, para sure pero walang binigay na cert, my icc n ung helmet n nbili ko. tnxs
