STEPS IN MAKING A “USB BACKGROUND IMAGE”
1- Look for a jpg image for your background…
2- Copy that jpg image onto your USB disk…
3- Open a notepad
4- Copy the codes below onto your notepad:

6- Change the title of the image in codes above (IconArea_Image=bird.jpg) Replace “bird.jpg” to whatever title of the jpg image you saved earlier into your USB. In my case, i replaced it with “Jessica Alba” since it’s the title of the jpeg image i save to my USB flash drive. See the screen shot:
7- Save the notepad file as “desktop.ini”(don’t write, of course. the double quotation marks) into your USB.
8- Right click in the USB area and click “refresh”. It’s done!

You can lock the folders in the USB stick using a folder locker software…
it won’t work on vista
1. Go to Desktop Right Click create a New Folder named A
2.Open Notepad copy the codes below
4. Save it to the Folder named A as Desktop.ini together with the picture.
5. After Doing the things above. Tricks Below
Here’s the Trick:
–> Go to Start Click on Run
–> type CMD (press Enter}
–> type CD/A (press Enter)
–>type ATTRIB +S A (PRESS ENTER)
–> A Ok your finish
–> Copy A to your USB STICK
–> Rename it as My Computer (sample)

with password without any program.
1. Open Notepad

3. Edit the type your password here with your password
4. Save it as Whatever.bat on Desktop
5. Then Click on it a Private Folder will appear
6. If you want to lock it type y (enter)
7. Enter Password to Unlock
8. Copy the Whatever.bat on your USB STICK

i have problem in this
long time ago i have done it and i use to save my files and uni home works in it
this morning i have tried to open it to finish one of the assighnments but no way
it keeps or refreshing the page
WAT CAN I DO i need to finish this assighnment next week , do u think its gonna work againe or i shuld do it againe

I know the solution of your problem because i have encountered that problem too. All you need is to open a notepad, and open the Whatever.bat there at File/Open…
Delete and retype all quotation marks and save…..
it’s done…

Tried everithing doesn’t work
only the USB icon changing works 
the image of usb window not working and the “folder protect” creates the folder “private’ but it writes to me:” go to was unespected at this time” on “CMD window” runing windows vista and it closed fast and i tried to open and it openes with no password even moved to usb stik

hmm… its very easy tnx. to don’t know how, copy the her given code then your selected pic. and put it in the usb also the name of the pic replace it on the jpg ex. conArea_Image=bird.jpg replace the bird.jpg to your pic name put it in the usb also the pic. the two of it must exist out side the usb disktop after that refresh and done. that the complete function ^_^
the others have prob. the error is on pic. or the cmptr tnx bro. yur the best

There’s no reason it won’t work on your USB since it works on most of us. Be sure you have followed the codes and instructions properly. Can you write the steps you’ve undertook, one by one, and post it here so that i could check it where did you go wrong… Thanks…

I tried it and it worked. This is a nifty, cool trick. The key is to save the file as desktop.ini. If you make a mistake it won’t work.

Video won’t work on USB alone. It should have a media player…
So pwedeng malagyan ng multimedia and usb in order to put a video bg on it…if not, yung GIF image pwede po ba para magkaroon ng moving BG.?
Still, you can’t install a multimedia player on the USB… I think GIF animated images will work on the USB… I haven’t tried it…
